SOLD 1960s Globe Table Lamp by Paul Mayén for Habitat International
This is an original Paul Mayén globe lamp, designed circa 1953 for his company Habitat International. While the product was originally designed of glass, the designer later changed its composition to polypropylene for ease of use. It has 3 chromed-metal rods at its base for support. The original design is included in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art.
This modern globe lamp was designed in several sizes, this being the largest of the group. The lamp measures 15 inches in diameter and 15 inches tall. The bedside table its shown on for context measures 19.5 inches wide and deep. The piece is in very good vintage condition, with slight discoloration to the globe when looking closely. The lamp has been tested and works as it should. This is a vintage piece that will show light signs and use. Please review all photos carefully.
