C. 1961 Herman Miller Eames DAT-1 Chair with Fully Upholstered Pad
This is a Fiberglass Task Armchair, Model DAT-1, initially designed by Ray and Charles Eames for Herman Miller in 1953. This particular example was produced in the United States and dates to circa 1961. The design features a molded Zenaloy fiberglass-reinforced plastic shell, a fully-integrated interior upholstered vinyl pad, and a cast-aluminum four-star swivel-tilt pedestal base with casters.
This chair measures approximately 23 inches deep, 24.8 inches wide, and 34 inches high. The seat height is 18 inches. There are several scuffs and scratches on the exterior of the seat, and the fiberglass shows ample patina. Overall, this armchair is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
