C. 1954 Herman Miller Eames Wire LKX-2 Side / Lounge Chair with Original Bikini Pad
This is a LKX-2 side chair, originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1951. This particular example was produced by Herman Miller in the USA C. 1954. The chair is comprised of a steel wire seat with a bikini pad in yellow fabric atop a steel X-base. LKX-2 is an acronym for Lounge Height K-Wire Chair on X-Base, with the "-2" to identify the seat has the bikini pad.
This is the rare lounge height version called the LKX. It measures 27.5 inches tall by 19 inches wide by 22.5 inches deep with a seat height of 16 inches. Overall, the chair is in good condition with expected wear from use, which can be seen on the fabric. Please see photos.
