C. 1950 Pair of Herman Miller Eames Rope Edge DAR Arm Shell Chair Seafoam Green
This is a pair of DAR "Eiffel" Armchairs in seafoam green., originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1949. This pair dates to C. 1950. These pieces are 1st year production examples, both featuring oversized shock mounts, threaded feet, rope edge, and zenith label. The abbreviated Eames DAR Chair stood for the Eames Dining height, Arm Chair, on a Rod Base.
The listed price includes both chairs to be sold together as a pair.
Each chair measures 24 inches deep, 24.875 inches wide, and 31.5 inches high, with a seat height of 17.875 inches. These pieces do show wear consistent with age and use. They both retain their labels underneath the seats. We have intentionally left this important pair in their original condition to showcase their history. There is some patina on the zinc/steel frames, and the fiberglass shows wear. Overall, these chairs are in very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
