C. 1949 Evans Eames DCM Dining Chair with Original Hair on Hide Upholstery
This is an Eames DCM Chair, originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1946. This particular example was produced by Evans in the USA C. 1949. The chair's design features a welded steel rod base, molded plywood seat, and has the original hair-on-hide it was upholstered in. The Evans production details can be identified from the circular ends of the frame on the back and also the threaded glides on the feet.
The chair measures 21.5 inches deep, 19.5 inches wide, and 29.25 inches high with a seat height of 18 inches. There are visible screws drilled into both the seat and back, and the hide is ripped on the seat. Overall, the chair is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
