1964 Acton Office Perch Stool by George Nelson and Robert Propst for Herman Miller in Vinyl and Aluminum
This is a “Perch” office stool, designed by George Nelson & Robert Propst for Herman Miller in 1964. The design was part of Nelson’s Action Office system. The stool consists of a padded black naugahyde seat and one arm, which can serve as both a backrest and as an arm to lean on when working. The base is made of polished steel, with a polished cast-aluminum 4 star base with casters. This piece is also known as a “Propst Perch”.
The stool’s overall height varies from 38.75" to 42.75", overall width and depth is 29". Seat measures 15.25" deep and 10.25" wide and the armrest is 10.25" wide and 3.5" high.This stool is in terrific condition, but it remains a truly vintage piece.
