2008 Pair of Aino & Alvar Aalto for Artek 402 Lounge Chairs in Taupe Fabric
This is a pair of model 402 ‘Ateljé’ lounge chairs, designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1933. This particular pair was produced in 2008, and the listed price includes the pair of two chairs as shown. These classic cantilever lounge chairs are formed of steam-bent Birch wood, and they retain their original taupe upholstery. The seat and back are padded for comfort.
Each chair measures 30 inches tall, 24 inches wide, and 27.5 inches deep. There are some minor blemishes on the fabric and some streaks. One chair has a large stain that we've not tried to remove. The wood legs and arms have scratches and some small chips. Overall, this pair is in good condition. Please see photos.
