SOLD 1992 Knoll Handkerchief Stacking Chairs by Massimo & Lella Vignelli 16x Avail
Listed for sale is a single (multiple available, but sold separately) Knoll Handkerchief stacking chair, designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli. The duo were some of the most influential designers of the 20th century and are perhaps most famous for their work on the New York City subway maps. Vignelli associates worked across interiors, graphic design, furniture, and beyond.
With reference to these chairs in particular, they were introduced by Knoll in 1983. This grouping dates to 1992, noted thanks to the original labels with dates. The condition overall is very good to excellent with the chairs showing only light wear from use. There may be some light markings as expected for chairs of this vintage. The handkerchief chairs are undoubtedly some of the most affordable yet iconic designs by Knoll. In white, they are clean and minimal.
Sixteen chairs are available. They came from a large modern commercial office in Chicago. The chairs measure 23 inches wide by 29 inches tall and 22.5 inches deep.
