These are Cantilever Sled Base Dining Armchairs, produced by Thonet in the 1980s. The listed price includes one chair, and we have several identical chairs available for purchase. Their design incorporates a chromed-steel tubular cantilevered frame with upholstery that is done in a grey canvas fabric. Their silhouette is close to that of a Brno chair, but the arms on these do not extend to span the back. Thonet was a pioneer in producing tubular steel furniture, becoming the world’s largest manufacturer of cantilever chairs in the 1930s. These particular examples retain their Thonet tags.

Each chair measures 22.75 inches deep, 21.75 inches wide, and 31.25 inches high. They have a seat height of 18.5 inches. These chairs have been previously utilized in a commercial environment, and they show some signs of use. The fabric has some spots that may or may not come out with cleaning, and there is some wear at the outer seams. The bases have scratches and scuffs.
