

1980s Pair of Herman Miller Eames Fiberglass DAX Dining Arm Shell Chairs Orange
This is a pair of DAX Dining Arm Shell Chairs, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1950. These examples were produced by Herman Miller in the 1980s. Each chair features a black molded fiberglass arm shell with orange upholstery, set on a four-leg steel H-base. DAX is an acronym for Dining Arm X Base Chair, though the X-bases were later replaced with H-bases.
The listed price includes both chairs to be sold together as a pair.
Each chair measures 23.5 inches deep, 24.875 inches wide, and 31.25 inches high, with a seat height of 17.875 inches. These pieces show wear consistent with previous use including stains on the fabric and light patina on the legs. Overall, the chairs are in good condition. Please see photos.
