This is a Kyoto Medium Dish / Plate Set, initially designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli for Casigliani International Design in 1971, with their debut in 1979. These particular examples were produced in Italy and date to 1979. The pieces are comprised of melamine. Their deep profile allows the plates to be stacked on top of one another with flatware and leftovers entirely enclosed within, systematically simplifying table cleanup into a "clean pile of dirty dishes".

The listed price includes one set of four, and we have fifteen sets available in either red or ivory. Sets in white and black are also likely available, please inquire if you are looking for those specific colors and we will let you know about availability.

Fifty percent of the proceeds from your sale will go directly to the Vignelli Center for Design Studies at RIT, supporting and preserving the Vignelli archive.

Each medium dish measures approximately 7.5 inches deep, 7.5 inches wide, and 1.25 inches high. These plates are old stock and have never be used. They will arrive in their original packaging. Please see photos.
