1970s Ward Bennett for Brickel Associates Bumper Swivel Armchair in Red Fabric
This is a Bumper Swivel Lounge Armchair, initially designed by Ward Bennett and produced by Brickel Associates in 1964. This chair dates to the 1970s and is all original. It has a nickel-plated steel four-star base that swivels, and the upholstery is done in a red tweedy fabric. There is a Brickel Associates tag affixed underneath the seat. This silhouette is a classic example of Bennett's work during the 1960’s.
This chair measures 26 inches deep, 27 inches wide, and 33 inches tall. It has a seat height of 17 inches. The base shows some scratches and scuffs, and the original upholstery shows some pilling. Overall, this chair is in good condition. Please see photos.
