SOLD 1970s Set of Four Gerrit Thomas Rietveld Zig-Zag Chairs Unmarked in Cherry Wood
Listed for sale is a set of four Zig Zag chairs, designed by Gerrit Rietveld, produced in the early 1970s. The zig zag chair was designed in the 1930s and has become an icon of 20th century modern design. These particular examples are unmarked but made of terrific quality. They have a black lacquered edge and appear to be constructed from Cherry. While its possible that these were earlier production examples by Cassina, this is not certain. The set was acquired from an estate in Manhattan. Condition overall is very good to excellent with some light wear from use. See photos for reference.
The chairs measure 37 inches tall by 15.5 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep.
As noted, the price listed includes all four chairs.
