1970s Otto Zapf for Knoll Executive Desk Chair in Black Fabric, Steel Frame
This is an Executive Desk Chair, initially designed by German industrial designer Otto Zapf in 1973. The design was officially introduced to the public in 1974 at the NEOCON commercial furniture convention in Chicago. This particular example dates to the 1970s, featuring a highly-padded back rest upholstered in black fabric. It sits atop a 5-star steel base with casters.
The chair measures 30 inches deep, 29.5 inches wide, 41.75 inches high, with a seat height of 17.75 inches. There is some wear to the fabric on the corners of the armrests, and there is tearing along the seams. Overall, the chair is in good condition. Please see photos.
