1966 Pair of Gordon Bunshaft & Davis Allen of SOM Round Glass Side / End Tables
This is a pair of round side tables, designed by Davis Allen under the leadership of Gordon Bunshaft within SOM. It’s possible that Nicos Zographos played a role in the execution of these, though the detailing is more typical of Davis Allen's work due to the perfectly crisp corners. The sophisticated design features a highly polished stainless-steel base and has a thick round glass top that sits flush with the frame. SOM produced hundreds of their own furniture designs during the 1950s to 1980s, and this design is a classic example.
Each table measures 24 inches in diameter, and is 22 inches high. The polished stainless-steel bases are in great shape with perhaps a few light scuffs and scratches. The glass tops have no chips or cracks. Overall, this set is in very good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
