Regular price $ 30,000

This is an incredible Set of Four American Black Walnut and Fiberglass Shoji-Style Sliding Screens or Panels, having details that are consistent with works produced by George Nakashima’s Studio in the 1960s. The pieces were most recently purchased from WYETH in 2004 for $16,000, and the original receipt from this transaction will be included with this sale. These sliding panel doors are also often referred to as Shoin Screens, as derived from Japanese etymology.
The panels are not marked or labelled as far as we can tell, and therefore we are unable to concretely determine if Nakashima was indeed the maker. For now, they are offered as being “attributed to” Mr. Nakashima.

Each screen measures inches deep, inches wide, and inches high. The fiberglass background insert has just the slightest hint of yellowing to the surface, and there are some light nicks and scratches on the walnut. There are no holes in the fiberglass. Overall, this set of panels is in very good condition. Please see photos.
