1960s Richard Schultz for Knoll 704 Convertible Daybed / Sofa in Grey Fabric
This is a Model 704 Convertible Sofa, initially designed by Richard Schultz for Knoll in 1958. This particular example was produced in the United States during the 1960s. The design features clean lines, a boxy silhouette, and a low profile. The piece is upholstered in a grey fabric.
This sofa measures 31.5 inches deep, 80 inches wide, and 28 inches high, with a seat height of 15 inches. The grey fabric shows light wear, and there is a dark spot and some discoloration on the seat. There are some threads coming apart on the fabric, and there is some rust and some scratches on the metal frame. The frame and cushions remain sturdy and supportive. Overall, the sofa is in good condition. Please see photos.
The convertible function on this sofa is in working condition, but photographer did not get shots of that function. If desired, please reach out and we will get photos together for you.
