1960s Pair of Florence Knoll Parallel Bar Slipper Lounge Chairs in Cream Fabric
This is a pair of Florence Knoll Parallel Bar System Armless Slipper Lounge Chairs, Model 51, initially designed by Florence Knoll in 1955. These examples date to the 1960s, and the listed price includes the pair of chairs as shown. They were produced by the Lawsonia Manufacturing Company on behalf of Knoll. Lawsonia Co. is a known Knoll subcontractor. Their design features a padded seat and back having button-tufted details, supported by a square tubular steel frame with a contrasting black finish. These examples retain their original off-white fabric upholstery.
Each chair measures 29.5 inches long, 24.5 inches wide, and 30.25 inches high. They have a seat height of 16.25 inches. We have intentionally left the frames in their original state, and they show some light wear. There are some minor blemishes on the fabric, and it is pilling slightly. Overall, these chairs are in good condition. Please see photos.
