1960s Nicos Zographos CH28 Ribbon Chair in New Black Leather & Stainless Steel
This is a CH28 Ribbon Lounge Chair, designed by Nicos Zographos for Zographos Designs in 1959. This example represents some of the earliest design work from Zographos; The silhouette is clearly informed by Mies van der Rohe and other early modernists. Unlike the Barcelona chair, the legs are made of robust solid stainless steel taking a ribbon form, rather than an X. The design also features a continuous one-piece curved seat. This particular example has been newly reupholstered in thick black leather.
The chair measures 29 inches deep, 29 inches wide, and is 28 inches high. It has a seat height of 16 inches. There are some light scratches and scuffs on the base, and the new leather upholstery is in excellent shape. Overall, this chair is in very good condition. Please see photos.
