SOLD 1960s Knoll International Brown Leather Wassily Lounge Chair by Marcel Breuer
Listed for sale is an original Wassily lounge chair in brown belting leather, designed by Marcel Breuer and produced by Knoll International. This example came from a prominent estate in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The original owner had a house full of Knoll furniture, all of which was purchased new throughout the late 1950s and 1960s. Knoll purchased the Gavina company in 1968 and this example seems to date to around that time period. There are a few details to note in ensuring the quality of this piece. First off, it has clean welded ends on the tube, unlike knockoffs with caps on the ends. Secondly, this uses very high quality belting leather for the straps, which are beautifully stitched. This too is an additional indicator of quality and authenticity. The leather has remained in very nice shape over the years and it appears that one area has some reinforced stitching. The chair measures 31 inches wide by 25 inches deep and 28 inches tall. If desired, we can polish the frame for you prior to shipping.
