1960s Frank Lloyd Wright Heritage Henredon Taliesin Ensemble Full Headboard
This is a full-sized headboard from the Taliesin Ensemble line, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Heritage-Henredon in 1955.
The piece features a facade of Honduran mahogany, and has Lloyd Wright's signature dentil carving along the edges. The line was only in production for two years from 1955 to early 1957, rendering its pieces rather scarce. Interestingly, Heritage-Henredon did not effectively market the line when initially released, which translated into disappointing sales figures. As a result, Wright did not continue his contract with the company in 1956. Nowadays, Lloyd Wright has a cult-like following, and the pieces from this very limited collection are coveted by collectors.
This headboard measures 1 inch deep, 38.5 inches high, and 54 inches wide. The piece has scuffs and scratches where the headboard connects to a standard metal bed frame (not included in this sale). There are also some light surface blemishes on the headboard. Overall, the piece is in good condition. Please see photos.
