1960s Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Egg Lounge Chair in Purple
This is an Egg Lounge Chair, Model 3316, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Jacobsen designed the chair in 1958, perfecting the shape by experimenting with wire and plaster in his garage. This piece has been reupholstered in the last 15 years or so. It appears to be leather, but could also be faux leather. The chair swivels and has a tilt function, and rests on a 4-star aluminum base.
This piece has a height of 41 inches, a width of 33.9 inches, and a depth of 31.1 inches. It has a seat height of 14.6 inches and an arm height of 22.8 inches. The chair does show some wear from previous use, including some marks and scratches on the back. Overall, the piece is in good to very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
