1960 Herman Miller Eames DAX Dining Arm Shell Chair in Parchment Fiberglass
This is a DAX fiberglass dining chair, initially designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1950. This particular example was produced by Herman Miller in the USA C. 1960. The design incorporates a parchment fiberglass shell seat atop a steel X-base. DAX is an acronym for Dining Arm X Base Chair.
Each chair measures 23.5 inches deep, 24.875 inches wide, and 31.25 inches high with a seat height of 17.5 inches. The metal base shows a bit of patina and there are some surface blemishes on the seat. The chair can be cleaned further if desired prior to shipping. Please see photos.
