1950s Side Chair by Norman Cherner for Plycraft in Walnut Plywood Made in USA
This is a Walnut Bent Plywood Side Chair, designed by Norman Cherner in 1958. This example dates to the 1950s and was produced by Plycraft in the USA. The walnut veneer has developed a warm, welcoming patina over the years.
The chair measures 21.5 inches deep, 18.5 inches wide, and 31.5 inches high. It has a seat height of 18 inches. The piece has a visible veneer repair on its back, and there are some small chips. The undercarriage has veneer damage, not to be seen when in place. The legs show some scrapes. Overall, this chair presents beautifully. Please see photos.
