1950s Raymond Loewy for Mengel Full Size Headboard and Footboard
This is a Full Size Headboard and Footboard, initially designed by Raymond Loewy for the Mengel Furniture Company in 1951. This particular example was produced in the United States and dates to the 1950s. The design features a slatted, bleached oak frame.
The listed price includes both the headboard and the footboard to be sold together as a set.
This headboard measures 1.75 inches deep, 56.5 inches wide, and 30 inches high, while the accompanying footboard measures 1.75 inches deep, 56.5 inches wide, and 18 inches high. These pieces do show wear consistent with age and previous use. The headboard has some blemishes and scratches present across the legs and frame. The footboard also exhibits blemishes and scratches, along with chips near the leg area. Overall, this bed set is in good condition. Please see photos.
