1930s Swiss Utility Tray Table by Georg Albert Ulysse Caruelle for Embru Werke
This is a Utility Tray Table or a Standing Workstation, designed by Georg Albert Ulysse Caruelle for the Swiss company Embru Werke in 1929. The versatile piece has a chrome-plated steel base, and has an ebonized wood tray top with bakelite handles. One of the bottom legs extends, affording the piece stabilization while keeping it sleek.
This table measures 16.5 inches deep, 20 inches wide, and stands 40 inches high. The upper surface swings around, having a 90º tilt. The top is height adjustable from 26" - 40" inches. There are some surface blemishes on the tabletops, and the ebonization of the wood has faded slightly. Overall, this table is in good condition. Please see photos.
