SOLD Pair Eames Herman Miller Soft Pad Aluminum Chair Cognac Leather w Girard Fabric
Listed for sale is an original pair of early Herman Miller soft pad task chairs, with cognac leather and Alexander Girard Fabric backs. The chairs were designed by Charles and Ray Eames.
These two examples came from Fidelity (I believe their headquarters). They are all original and in generally nicely worn but excellent condition. The arms are in great shape with the exception of one small chip on the side of one arm.
Leather shows wear as you would expect for chairs like this from the 70's. Photos are representative of condition.
The order was specified to a cognac leather with the orange/yellow girard hopsack fabric. Considering that the soft pad group was patented in 1968 and these presumably date to the early 70's, I'd say these are some of the rarer and more desirable soft pad chairs out there. The combo cant be beat!
