SOLD Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Rosewood 1970's
Listed for sale is an original vintage (1970's, perhaps 1980's) Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and ottoman in black leather. The set is in excellent condition and has beautiful brazillian rosewood panels combined with supple Herman Miller cushions. The Herman Miller label is still present on the chair and is the black, rectangular label. The chair also has rectangular black clips as is consistent with chairs of this vintage.
This particular example has a flaw on each side from the previous owner. As it was noticed that the shock mounts (rubber inner pieces) were separating from the plywood shells, the individual decided to clamp the shock mount onto the chair. This means that the plywood has not been structurally compromised at all, but does have two dimples on the plywood by the shock mounts. Since this is below the armrests, it can not be seen at all luckily!
Cushions:
The cushions show wear as is appropriate for vintage examples. There are a few light scratches, but overall very nice condition. The cushions have been recently conditioned and cleaned.
Wood:
The rosewood shells are in excellent condition, noting the dimples from clamps as mentioned earlier beneath the armrests.
Shock Mounts:
The shock mounts are new and in great shape.
Bases and Metal
The aluminum bases are in great condition. The feet move nicely, paint is all there, and aluminum looks great.
