SOLD Eames Evans Herman Miller Early 40's 50's LCW Original Black Aniline Dye
Listed for sale is an all original Eames LCW by Evans or possibly very early transitional Herman Miller in excellent condition. The chair still has all original shock mounts and has acquired a beautiful patina. The chair maintains its original black aniline dye and has had no further finishes applied. In terms of hardware, the chair has the Evans 5-2-5 setup with one screw missing.
The writing on the underside of the chair is one method that was used to specify the finish and specs for the chairs. Charles Eames would allegedly get frustrated with the factory workers when they would do this, as it would ruin the aesthetic underneath, but also made organization much easier.
The screws show no signs of being tampered with and appear to have never been touched. The screws all have patina as is appropriate and are not at all loose.
Wood
Excellent condition showing clear signs of age and use but no damage (chips, dents, breaks..etc). The original black aniline dye has held up well and has aged nicely.
Shock Mounts and Screws
The shock mounts are all original and are still stable on the chair. The screws are all original as well and are still tight into the shock mounts.
