SOLD Eames Evans Herman Miller 1946 DCM Dining Chairs Black Aniline Dye Set of 4 RARE
Listed for sale is an original set of four very special early Evans DCM chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The chairs date to approximately 1946 and are some of the earliest examples produced.
These came from the home of their original owner, along with two other super early fiberglass chairs. The chairs were just fully restored to bring back the appearance of the original black aniline dye. This was done by a restoration specialist in the NYC area, who specializes in Eames furniture restoration. The original Evans labels have been fully preserved and are shown in the photos. Two of the four chairs have the full original labels intact.
Some small veneer repairs were made during restoration, however, the result is fantastic and the finish looks flawless. Its nearly impossible to see that any repairs were made.
