SOLD 1970s Herman Miller Eames Fiberglass Stacking Side Shell in Blue Fiberglass
This is a DSS Chair, originally designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1955. This particular example was produced by Herman Miller in the 1970s. The chair features a molded fiberglass shell in blue, and has a stackable base made of steel with a chrome finish. DSS is an acronym for Dining Height Side Chair Stacking Base.
The chairs each measure 21.75 inches deep, 23.125 inches wide, and 31.75 inches high, with a seat height of 18 inches. This piece shows wear from previous use including light scratching and scuffs on the base and seat. Overall, this chair is in good to very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
