SOLD Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Rosewood 670 671 1950's
Listed for sale is an original vintage Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and ottoman dating to 1957 or 1958. The set is in excellent condition and has beautiful brazillian rosewood panels combined with supple Herman Miller cushions, which are brand new Herman Miller cushions ($2500 for the cushions alone). The Herman Miller label is still present on the chair and is the white, round label. The chair also has round circular clips as is consistent with chairs of this vintage. This particular example has three holes below the armrest, identifying it as a first generation lounge chair, making it one of the earliest examples.
Cushions:
Brand new, supple leather.
Wood:
The rosewood shells are in excellent condition and are essentially perfect. There is one area where a veneer repair seems to have been done on the ottoman. In real life, it is much less noticeable even than in the last photo.
Shock Mounts:
The shock mounts are in immaculate condition and the chair hold strong.
Bases and Metal
The aluminum bases are in great condition. The feet move nicely, paint is all there, and aluminum looks great.
