1974 Gordon Bunshaft and Davis Allen for SOM Steel and Glass Round Side Table
This is a steel and glass side table, designed by Davis Allen and Gordon Bunshaft as part of SOM Design. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. was and still is an important architectural firm globally. SOM produced thousands of their own furniture designs from the 1950s-1980s, and this is a classic example. This table dates to the year 1974. The design features a steel base and has a round, glass top.
This example likely came from Marine Midland Project by SOM in Buffalo, NY. This and another rare SOM piece came from a prominent estate in Buffalo, New York.
The table measures 20 inches in diameter and 16 inches high. The polished stainless-steel base and glass top are in good condition with light wear apparent, including a few light scuffs and scratches. Overall, the table is in good condition with light wear. Please see photos.
