1960s Gordon Bunshaft and Davis Allen of SOM Three Seat Sofa in White Fabric
This is a three-seat sofa designed by Gordon Bunshaft and Davis Allen of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is a hugely important architectural firm. They produced hundreds of their own furniture designs from the 1950s-1980s. This sofa dates back to the 1960s. The design features a streamlined silhouette with a welded, ground, and polished stainless steel frame along with white fabric upholstery.
The sofa measures 37.25 inches deep, 84.25 inches wide, and 29 inches high, with a seat height of 15.25 inches. The fabric shows gentle signs of age, while the stainless steel base is clean with light wear consistent with age. Overall, the piece is in good vintage condition. Please see photos.
