1972 Palanox Organizer by Ristomatti Ratia for Treston Oy
This is a Palanox organizer, designed by Ristomatti Ratia in 1972. This forward-thinking system for organizational living was only in production for a few years in the early 1970s. Its production became obsolete once the 1973 gas crisis took hold, as the plastics industry was hurt by the lack of raw materials made of oil. Therefore, it was very limited in production. The contrasting brown & white plastic drawers are pure 70s.
The unit measures 39 inches in tall, 13 inches in depth and 13 inches in length. It is in very good vintage condition, but remains almost 50 years old. Please expect signs of wear and use. The organizer is modular, so each module can be rearranged accordingly and moved around. There is one missing pull, though it would be fairly simple to fabricate another if desired. The George Nelson desk is not included as part of the sale.
