SOLD 1985 Ivory Pedestal by Ettore Sottsass for Memphis Milano in Wood, Laminate, and Glass
This is a rare Ivory pedestal table designed by Ettore Sottsass and produced by Memphis Milano circa 1985. The ivory pedestal was intended to create something whimsical and desirable from otherwise inexpensive materials (in this case patterned laminates and dyed veneers. This example was acquired from an estate on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. It was acquired directly from the original owners.
The pedestal is also part of the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It measures 39.75 inches tall by 24 inches in diameter. The glass top has a diameter of 19.5 inches.
