This is a Classic Scandinavian Full-Sized Bed, designed by Hans Wegner for RY Mobler in the 1960s. This particular example was produced in Denmark in the 1970s. Wegner’s design theory centered around his predilection for natural materials with the intent of having them age gracefully over time. This piece is a testament to that theory; The patina on the wood frame is prolific, accentuating the grain of the wood beautifully. Ry Mobler's manufacturer's stamp is no longer visible on the piece, though the word is that it was executed in an ink that was prone to fading.
This offering includes the headboard, footboard, side panels, and slats as shown. The frame’s precise construction and well-fitting components make assembly straightforward, as the joints snap together without the need for tools.
This bed measures 58 inches long, 82.5 inches wide, and 29 inches high. There are some light scratches on the frame and there are some small dings on the wood. The finish has slightly faded in some areas, and there is ample patina. Overall, this bed is in good condition. Please see photos.
