SOLD George Nakashima for Widdicomb Sundra Dining Table With Leaf
Listed for sale is a beautiful East Indian Laurel dining table by George Nakashima. The table was crafted by Widdicomb furniture in Grand Rapids, MI. It is a rare and exceptional example of George Nakashima's earliest work. Soon after Nakashima came to Pennsylvania, he began building his studio. At this time, he also produced designs for Widdicomb and and created the Sundra series along with others, which used both solid hardwoods and exotic burl veneers in an effort to produce stunning and high quality pieces.
This table was purchased in the early 1950's and was used by the same family until now. It accompanied an entire dining room set, which you can inquire about if desired.
The table shows no signs of damage and does show signs of age. The patina is rich and lovely.
