Listed for sale is a very rare 1947 George Nakashima for Knoll Associates N10 Coffee Table. This example came from an unusual estate in Mississippi, along with a handful of other highly sought after vintage pieces. The N10 or M10 coffee table as it is sometimes known was done for Knoll very early in George Nakashima's career, before he had established himself as a truly renowned designer. This piece showcases a number of iconic Nakashima details. It uses a solid birch top with walnut sides. It also uses solid walnut for the legs. As noted in the photos, this example does show some wear and patina from use. There is a small split on one edge, which has been stabilized. Overall, it is a stunning and delightfully preserved piece from one of the earliest moments in this influential designer's past. It appears that very few of these tables were produced, as these tables rarely come up on the vintage market. With reference to measurements, the table measures 38 inches long by 34 inches wide by 16.5 inches tall.
