SOLD 1978 Set of Four Orsay Armchairs by Gae Aulenti for Knoll in Newly Reupholstered Black Leather
This is a set of four “Orsay” Armchairs, initially designed by Gae Aulenti in 1976, and produced by Knoll International in Italy. This armchair was named after the Musee d' Orsay in France, for which Aulenti reimagined the interiors. The listed price includes the matching set of four chairs, as shown. Their design features a sculptural lacquered aluminum frame, and these have been newly upholstered in a rich, high-end Italian leather in black.
Each chair measures 24 inches deep, 22.5 inches wide, and 33 inches high. They have a seat height of 17.75 inches. There are a couple of scuffs on the back of one or two (likely from stacking), but we should be able to make them less visible with some heat applied prior to shipping. The new upholstery is near pristine. Overall, these chairs are in very good condition. Please see photos.
