SOLD Early 2000's Eames Herman Miller Sofa Compact with Red Original Crepe Upholstery
Listed for sale is an original early 2000's Herman Miller Eames sofa compact designed by Charles and Ray Eames. The sofa compact was designed to be as efficient as possible when shipping and was therefore designed to fold. This particular example is upholstered in the red Herman Miller crepe fabric. The fabric has held up nicely for the most part and will likely look like new with a little extra cleaning! As is, the sofa looks fabulous still. Fabric shows only minimal wear and frame is superb.
The fabric on one panel of the sofa back shows some fraying as is noted in the photos. The shipper that sent the sofa to me also decided to use duck tape to keep the sofa folded, so a little bit of residue has remained on the back, however, I was able to get almost all of it off of the front.
Generally speaking, the sofa looks excellent from the front facing side. If you have this against a wall, it looks magnificent. If you have the back exposed, it may be worth re-covering one of the back panels.
The polished steel base bars are in great condition. The feet adjust nicely, paint is all there on metal frame.
