This is a bespoke coffee table, custom-designed by Joseph D’Urso in 1973. It is constructed of smooth black laminate over a wooden frame. Joseph D'Urso was commissioned to custom design several pieces for the Locker Residence in Kings Point, New York, therefore making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Condition overall is very good with some wear from use. See photos.

The table measures 18 inches tall, 30 inches wide, and 30 inches deep.

Joseph D’Urso came to prominence in the early 1970s, following an internship with Ward Bennett, a fellow pioneer of the “High-Tech” aesthetic. This extremely minimalist-industrial style had become his signature, and these matte-black blocky Formica tables were seen in many of his custom commissions.
