Harry Bertoia is considered to be one of the most important artists of the 20th century, having applied his brilliance to myriad areas of design throughout his storied career. Bertoia was a master-of-metal, witnessed not only in his sculpting of heavier pieces of artwork, but also in the finer, more delicate art of jewelry making. It was this conceptual understanding of the way in which metal moves that brought this acclaimed design to fruition, and renders it as important today as it was in 1952.
