1970s Aino & Alvar Aalto for Artek Laminated Birch Shelf, Model 112B, 35 inches
This is a wall shelf, Model 112B designed in 1936 by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek. This piece dates to the 1970s. The shelf is formed with bent birch brackets, which can be placed both below and above the panel, serving as bookends. The top surface of the shelf is birch veneer.
The shelf measures 10.6 inches long, 35 inches wide, and is 9.6 inches high. The piece remains all original and the birch has taken on a warm glow from time and use. Please see photos.
