1950s Florence Knoll Credenza Black & White w/ Original Leather Pulls Model 541
This is a 1950s Sliding Door Credenza in Black and White, Model 541, designed by Florence Knoll for Knoll Inc. circa 1949. The piece features an ebonized walnut case and has white lacquered doors. The sliding doors open to reveal adjustable shelves and open storage. The frame of the piece is steel, and it retains its original factory-issued leather pulls. It has a terrific patina, desirable to many collectors. It also retains its original 575 Madison Avenue bow-tie label, allowing us to accurately date it to the early 1950s.
This credenza measures 15.25 inches deep, 72 inches wide, and 17.35 inches high. We have intentionally left this cabinet in as-found condition in order to showcase the piece’s history. Upon request, our team can clean and polish the legs, and we can additionally have the case sanded and refinished to black or stripped down to its underlying walnut. Overall, this credenza is in good vintage condition with ample signs of age and wear apparent. Please see photos.
