This is an Eames Aluminum Group Soft Pad Executive Chair, Model EA420, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1968. This example dates to 1988. The design features a cast aluminum frame with an adjustable four-star base, and has thick black leather upholstery. The seat and back have plush cushions that are 2 inches thick, ensuring the most comfortable seating situation available.

This chair measures 23 inches deep, 23 inches wide, and is 40.25 inches high. It has a minimum seat height of 19.25 inches that is adjustable to 22.5 inches and has a seat depth of 16.5 inches. The leather is in good condition with some patina present, and the base and frame show some normal wear from use. The arms are in terrific shape.
