This is an Atelje Lounge Chair, Model 402, designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1933. This particular example dates to the 1970s. The piece is formed of steam-bent Finnish Birch, and has been newly upholstered in a green nubby fabric.

The chair measures 27.5 inches deep, 24 inches wide and 30 inches tall. It has a seat height of 16.5 inches. While the upholstery is newly done and in excellent condition, we have intentionally left the frame in its original condition to preserve the patina. The wood has some visible wear throughout. Overall, this chair is in very good vintage condition with some age apparent. Please see photos.
