This is a Tugendhat Lounge Armchair, initially designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1929. This particular example was produced by Gratz Industries in the United States, and it came to us from their private archival collection. Gratz is a company that Knoll enlisted to produce the stainless frames for their Barcelona and Tugendhat chairs. Both the straps and the cushions have been newly redone in rich black leather, and the cantilever frame is formed of solid polished stainless steel.
This chair measures 27.75 inches deep, 30 inches wide, and 32 inches high, with a seat height of 15.75 inches. There are some minimal scratches and scuffs on the frame, and the upholstery is new and in excellent shape. Overall, this chair is in very good condition. Please see photos.
