1940s LCM Lounge Chair by Ray and Charles Eames for Evans Products Company in Birch
This is an early LCM Chair, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1946. The piece was produced by Evans/ Herman Miller sometime in the late 1940s. Its design features a bent-plywood seat and back with a Birch veneer face, and has tubular chromed-steel legs.
The LCM chair measures 25.5 inches deep, 22.25 inches wide, and 27.5 inches high. It has a seat height of 15.25 inches. We have intentionally left this piece in its patinated condition. The chromed-steel frame shows pitting and scuffs, and there are areas of patina and oxidation at the joints. The Birch veneer shows wear at its edges and corners, and has some scratches to its finish. Overall, this LCM chair is in solid condition with signs of age that are evident. Please see photos.
