SOM, as it is known, refers to the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings \u0026amp; Merrill. During the mid to late 20th century, they were prolific in transforming corporate interiors in the US and internationally. As part of that, they would design their own furniture for various projects with their in-house interiors team. While the exact project for this is unknown, a near identical bench in a slightly different size was used for the Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library. The stainless-steel base was polished to a mirror finish, and the upholstery was newly re-done in a fine (very high quality) Italian black leather.\n\u003cbr\u003e \n\u003cbr\u003eThis bench measures 20 inches long, 48 inches wide, and 15.5 inches high. The metal base shows some light patina and some scuffs. The leather is in excellent shape as shown. Overall, this bench is in very good to excellent condition. Please see photos.
